Graphical Templates for Model Registration - Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on

چکیده
A new method of model registration is proposed using graphical templates. A graph of landmarks is chosen in the template image. All possible candidates for these landmarks are found in the data image using local operators. A dynamic programming algorithm on decomposable subgraphs of the template graph finds the optimal match to a subset of the candidate points in polynomial time. This combination of local operators to describe points of interestllandmarks and a graph to describe their geometric orientation in the plane, yields fast and precise matches of the model to the data, with no initialization required.

Fixed Points of Belief Propagation - An Analysis via Polynomial Homotopy Continuation.
Belief propagation (BP) is an iterative method to perform approximate inference on arbitrary graphical models. Whether BP converges and if the solution is a unique fixed point depends on both the structure and the parametrization of the model. To understand this dependence it is interesting to find all fixed points.
متن کاملCollocation for Diffeomorphic Deformations in Medical Image Registration.
Diffeomorphic deformation is a popular choice in medical image registration. A fundamental property of diffeomorphisms is in vertibility, implying that once the relation between two points A to B is found, then the relation B to A is given per definition. Consistency is a measure of a numerical algorithm's ability to mimic this invertibility, and achieving consistency has proven to be a challen...

The problem of recognizing an object from a partially occluded boundary image is considered, and the concept of saliency of a boundary segment is introduced. Saliency measures the extent to which the boundary segment distinguishes the object to which it belongs from other objects which might be present. An algorithm is presented which optimally determines the saliency of boundary segments of on...
متن کاملGuest Editors' Introduction to the Special Section on Probabilistic Graphical Models
An exciting development over the last decade has been the gradually widespread adoption of probabilistic graphical models (PGMs) in many areas of computer vision and pattern recognition. Representing an integration of graph and probability theories, a number of families of graphical models have been studied in the statistics and machine learning literatures. Examples of directed graphical model...
